Destination : PreludeAs always, I stress that as a relatively young project, i9 is looking for contributors to guide it along the path towards something relatively coherent and useful - accounting for a number of design decisions and features of course! With that in mind, I aim to nail down some sort of roadmap towards a first release (0.0.0, tentatively codenamed "Prelude"), and try to give a somewhat realistic/concrete idea of what I hope will feature in it. So, what do we have so far? A bucket of broken and half-baked components, and a microkernel that builds with a relatively modern and boots (after synchronising with L4Ka::Pistachio upstream a while ago) to a point where it will print a welcome message - I intend to try and package that up, along with a bootloader into a disk image that'll boot under QEMU (and upload source code tarballs for the used components). What do I intend to do along the way? I want to try and get some of the handy components that the Genode folks have created together, and integrated with our copy of the microkernel (I almost managed to build part of it tonight, but got stuck at the linking phase). Piecing a basic libSymbian (e32def.h) header together file would also be handy, unless I can convince one of the Symbian Foundation folks to release it early. ;) - And that concludes things for now...
