Big Check-In Coming Soon!

After spending a few hours rearranging my local copy of the source code tree (I haven't been able to work directly in the SVN repository, due to lack of connectivity for ages), I can safely say that the source code for L4Chain (GCC 3.3 precompiled for Linux, that works for building an L4::Pistachio kernel) will be uploaded tomorrow.

Assuming that I can get Good Enough™ connectivity, I'll also try and check in the stuff I have so far, which includes:

  • A known good version of L4::Pistachio that compiles cleanly with L4Chain (it's a little old, although it's a start). It also boots, if I remember correctly.
  • A precompiled version of L4Chain for Linux x86.
  • Some documentation on the system, and some named directories that are "set in stone"
  • Some stuff I have in my Scrapbook (which isn't much)
  • A precompiled version of L4::Pistachio for testing (compiled with Pentium 4 optimisations and some debugging options enabled)
  • World Peace (I wish) ;)

A lot of integration work needs to be done on the L4Chain and L4::Pistachio source trees, to get them to fit nicely. I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't get L4 to compile with a later version of GCC, and haven't been able to get the NICTA versions compiled yet (which makes the topic in our IRC channel a little misleading), but it's something for now. :(.
